About the Aluminum Pocket Door

An aluminum pocket door slides its glass panels completely into a pocket inside the wall, so when the door is open there is nothing left in the opening. It is the most seamless way to connect a room to the patio.

Pocket systems can be configured with two, three or four panels pocketing to one side, or built as a custom layout for corners and very wide openings. They are made to order in slim aluminum with your frame color and glass, and work best when planned during new construction or a major remodel because the wall needs a pocket.

Do pocket doors need a special wall?

Yes. The panels slide into a cavity in the wall, so the wall must be framed to receive them. That is why pocket systems are usually planned during new construction or a remodel.

What do 2XP, 3XP and 4XP mean?

The number is how many sliding panels there are, and P means they pocket into the wall. 2XP has two panels pocketing to one side, for example.

How big can a pocket door system be?

Standard widths run from about 107.5 to 191.5 inches with heights up to 119.5 inches, and custom layouts can be quoted for larger openings.
